Not Even A Six Hour Movie Could Capture The Essence Of “The Stand”

I was delighted to discover a four part movie had been made of “The Stand” but was left disappointed by how little of the book it was able to capture.  Although six hours had been devoted to the movie, very little of what made the book so great was portrayed on film.  The characters were not well described, and too much of the plot was left.  Someone who had not read the book would find that the movie moved to fast.  It didn’t help that the movie was made in the 80’s and was of very poor quality.  Why did that happen to so many adaptations of King’s books?  I would not recommend the movie.
