“The Borgia Betrayal” Was Outright Boring

I’ve been wanting to read about the Borgias for a while, but this was the wrong book to start off with.  “The Borgia Betrayal” follows Francesca, a court poisoner, as she navigates her way through the deceit and lies of the Roman Empire run by the Borgias.  While the plot sounds interesting, I was really bored during the first hundred pages, which was too focused on providing the background to the story instead of telling an engaging story.  The author didn’t even reveal Francesca’s name to the reader until thirty pages in.  I would not recommend this book to anyone, and I’m still searching for a good Borgia book, if you know one…
