All The Shoes In The World Couldn’t Keep “Very Valentine” Interesting

With a focus on shoes, Italy, and New York, I thought “Very Valentine” would be great.  It wasn’t.  It wasn’t bad, but the main character lacked any pizzazz that would entice a reader to continue the journey of saving her family’s shoe factory with her.  Having the protagonist be an overweight women in her thirties who lacks self-confidence wasn’t exactly a character I was thrilled with.  The plot was infused with classic Italian weddings and parties, but even that wasn’t enough to keep me going.   I stopped reading and wouldn’t recommend it.
