“Shadow Of The Wind” Should Have Stayed In The Shadows

“Shadow Of The Wind” is a book for people who love books.  The title of the book is actually referring to a book in the novel, a book everyone is after.  The writing and characters development was promising, but I gave the book a low review based on the author’s inability to develop an engaging plot.  Despite the strong writing and vivid descriptions, after one hundred pages, not much had happened.  The plot is that the book “Shadow of the Wind” is written and only a few copies survive.  Not exactly thrilling.  The author came on strong, but the story was getting repetitive and ridiculous when a man with his face burned off wants to burn this last remaining book too.  I wanted to love this book and was disappointed that I didn’t.
