Celebrating 200 Blogs With “The Painted Girls” During La Belle Epoque

th-1I was excited to journey through the Belle Epoque in “The Painted Girls” but was less than impressed with mundane characters and a slow story. There was nothing that set apart the characters or made ballet in Paris in the late 1800’s interesting. Not even the appearance of Degas could rejuvenate the plot. Ultimately, I had to close this book because there wasn’t anything making me want to continue on with the story.
Did your interest in a certain time period prompt you to pick up a book that was underwhelming? Tell me which book!
