The Winter Girl started out as a heart pounding thriller that began when Scott broke into the home next door. He and his wife were house sitting his father-in-law’s house, while the old man battled cancer in a convalescent home. Scott’s obsession with the light timers drove him to investigate the home and then find a shocking secret. The writing was so hypnotic that I couldn’t stop reading even when the plot became totally disturbing. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t read this just due to the horrors that filled the creepy house next door. But, as for the writing, and general format of the story, this was well done.
